Wedding favours are usually part of a wedding checklist, a nice way of personalising your wedding and giving your guests something to remember your special day with but sadly sometimes, these little gifts go unappreciated. So do you really need them? Read on below to decide if you should include wedding favors into your budget and checklist.
Tight Wedding Budget
If you’re on a tight wedding budget, scrap the additional costs favors will bring. Just go without them and they might not even be missed. Each favor may not cost much but remember that it all adds up especially for a big reception with many guests.
Real Wedding Cake
In Asia, the trend is moving from fake styrofoam cakes to real wedding cakes. Real wedding cakes don’t come cheap and if you’re already planning to have one, give out slices of your wedding cake as favors instead!
Hotel Favours
Usually when a wedding is held in a hotel, the hotel will throw in some boxed chocolates or small slices of wrapped cake as part of their package. If you already have that deal from your hotel, you don’t really need extra favors unless you really dislike what they’re offering!
Appreciative Guests
There is nothing sadder than to see lots of your wedding favors left behind after your reception or worse, tossed casually to the side. Preparing favors take up a lot of time and money for the bridal couple but sometimes, guests simply have no use for that cute little trinket. So before deciding on whether you should have wedding favors, take a good look at your guest list and decide if all your efforts will be appreciated.
Wedding favors make great gifts but remember, they do cost money so talk to your partner and decide if you would rather do without and save that extra money for your honeymoon instead!
